"Maybe not technology is the bottleneck, but we humans are” – presenting alongside IBM, Moody's, Bloomberg, and S&P Global.
Named alongside the mayor industry names in the market data industry.
At the SIPUGDay, the big yearly event for Market and Risk Data Providers in Zurich, NEWHORYZON was invited to present and exhibit alongside the world’s biggest companies in market and risk data—names like Bloomberg, IBM, S&P Global, Dow Jones, Moody's, MSCI, Morningstar, ICE, and FactSet.
What came across in all the presentations and in conversations with these companies: data is only as valuable as the way we use it to derive decisions and actions. At the same time, the entire industry is in flux. AI is disrupting traditional ways of handling data, and this shift is opening the door for new players who challenge the status quo.
One thing became clear when looking at the offerings at the event: there has never been more data—or more ways to display it. Some dashboards felt overwhelmingly cluttered. From my own experience years ago with the terminal of one of the most respected data providers, this problem has only intensified.
And that is where NEWHORYZON comes into play.
During my presentation, I emphasized that the human is the bottleneck.
Leaders, fund and risk managers, but also military and government officials, have never had access to as much information and data as today:
- The first wave came with the emergence of the smartphone, enabling an “always-on” mentality.
- The second wave came with social media and its endless distractions.
- The third wave is now breaking over us: AI gives us more information than ever, letting us explore data and questions in limitless ways by analyzing and connecting them.
Cognitive load is at an all-time high, with information arriving at unprecedented scale and speed. With new geopolitical, technological, and military threats, the central question is: how can humans in the loop still make sound, critical decisions when billions of dollars- or even lives - are at stake?
That is why NEWHORYZON began its mission earlier this year: to support leaders and decision-makers with immense responsibilities by reducing cognitive load when accessing and processing information, so they don’t make costly or even irreparable mistakes.
With the help of AI, NEWHORYZON’s solutions surface only the most relevant information while reducing noise and cognitive overload.
We don’t believe in one-size-fits-all solutions. Instead, we work 1-on-1 with decision-makers to build around their personal preferences for accessing and processing information - whether via dashboards, bots, or reports.
By doing so, decision-makers not only experience lower cognitive load but also gain awareness of their own biases.
